Seaside Clevedon offers relaxing life
The seaside town of Clevedon has a lot to offer families and
couples moving into the area and should be considered by those
relocating to the Somerset area.
With around 20,000 residents, the atmosphere is friendly but there
are still plenty of facilities within easy reach, as well as plenty
of opportunities to make friends and discover new interests.
There is a wide choice of
property for sale in Clevedon and the town manages to
successfully balance the rural with the coastal, so it appeals to
those who enjoy the outdoor life. Dog owners will be pleased with
the number of attractive walks and families will be able to get
plenty of fresh air and exercise.
As well as enjoying the countryside, Clevedon also has one of the
oldest ever examples of a Victorian pier in the UK, which dates
back to 1869. It has been recognised as a Grade-1 listed building
and has the added benefit of cream teas being served at the end of
the pier all year round.
Other interesting days out in the area include visiting Clevedon
Court. It is a 14th century manor National Trust property and is in
surprisingly good condition, with lots of original medieval
features to explore.
The house was bought in 1709 by Abraham Elton and remains the
family home for his descendants to this day. One of the main
attractions for visitors to the unique property include the large
display of Eltonware pottery and a varied collection of Nailsea
For those people who enjoy sport, Clevedon also has an active
leisure scene. There are local teams in both cricket and on-league
football within the town.
